A former constitutional lawyer, Claudio Paroli has been a television journalist in Australia since 1980, covering every possible role from reporter to producer, from news director (acting!) to trainer of Aboriginal TV staff - to what he describes a his scariest role, two half-hours as a newsreader.

For five years he also managed the transmissions, operations and maintenance of Australia's multicultural broadcaster, for which he ran special projects such as Australia's first full live World Cup telecasts and the relocation of TV network SBS headquarters prior to setting up his own company specialising in TV news/current affairs and major television events.

From the mid-Nineties and all through to 2010 Claudio collaborated with Italy's State broadcaster RAI - again in several diverse roles (this time in Italian) including roving videoreporter, producer and RAI's local logistics manager for both the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2008 World Youth Day, and the area manager for RAI International.

He loves getting his hands dirty in the field, filming with his Sony XDCAM EX-3, using his Sennheiser and Røde audio kits and his Lowel lights. He also edits his own stories as it is now rather common among foreign correspondents.

For French/Italian market researchers and strategists Market Dynamics International (MDI) Claudio produced videoreports for a range of MDI clients including Italy's Barilla, Holland's Philips and France's Renault, meeting deadlines sometimes tighter than news.

The Italian Government has made him Cavaliere al merito della Repubblica italiana and he has been representing Sydney's Italian community for more than 10 years a a member of the Committee of Italians Abroad (Comites). He's a former Board member of the Foreign Correspondents Association of Australia and South Pacific (FCA).

Next to wife Blanca, daughter Monica and cooking he loves working in television and graphic design of all sorts. He also likes to quote Luigi Barzini jnr, one of Italy's foremost journalists and writers, who said "being a journalist is better than working".
